1. Firefighters say they found human remains in a home off Farmers Loop Road when they responded to a structure fire Saturday morning near Fairbanks.
2. Fairbanks police busted an alleged illegal gambling operation Friday. They arrested five people and seized $55,000 worth of equipment and $45,000 in cash.
3. Assemblymember Scott Crass will be the Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly's presiding officer for the coming year.
4. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for today around the eastern Alaska Range south of Delta Junction. Forecasters predict south winds from 25 to 35 miles per hour, gusting to about 55 miles an hour.
5. Palmer Republican Sen. Shelley Hughes resigned from the Alaska Senate Friday to pursue her run for governor next year. She's the 14th person to declare her gubernatorial candidacy, so far.
6. The Juneau Assembly tonight will consider whether the borough should adopt a ranked-choice voting system for municipal elections beginning next year.
